Ranting Politics Headline Updates Lead Story:

In a surprising turn of events, TV personality Dr. Phil McGraw got a firsthand look at immigration enforcement in action, embedded with ICE officers during their latest deportation raids in Chicago. The operation, targeting 270 high-value targets, kicked off with the arrest of a Thai national convicted of sex crimes against children. Dr. Phil joined border czar Tom Homan as they confronted Sam Seda, who remarkably seemed unfazed by his situation. When questioned about his citizenship status, Seda's response was telling - simply stating that his mother was a citizen. Even more concerning was his dismissive "not really" response when confronted about his conviction for sex crimes involving children.

The operation highlights the ongoing controversy surrounding sanctuary cities. As Homan pointed out during the raid, these policies allow convicted criminals to walk freely on city streets rather than face deportation. This particular case exemplifies the challenges faced by federal agents when local authorities limit their cooperation with immigration enforcement. Contrary to some public concerns, ICE officials clarified that these operations are precisely targeted efforts, not broad neighborhood sweeps. They're specifically going after individuals with serious criminal records - murderers, child traffickers, and other dangerous offenders who pose a direct threat to public safety.

The Chicago raids are part of a larger nationwide effort that netted 956 arrests on Sunday alone. Federal authorities are now pushing to increase their daily arrest numbers significantly, aiming for between 1,200 and 1,500 arrests per day. This marks a substantial escalation from the current average of 433 daily arrests reported by the Washington Post. It's worth noting that Chicago Public Schools had to walk back claims about ICE agents entering an elementary school, clarifying that those were actually Secret Service agents investigating an unrelated threat. This shows just how sensitive and sometimes misreported these operations can be in sanctuary cities.
